And when I say that, I’m not just shitting sunshine—I’ve had my share of suicidal moments. I have clinical depression, and I’m recovering from a cutting addiction. I know that feeling of hopelessness better than I know my best friends. But I PROMISE you—-it is only a feeling, and feelings DO pass. They are painful, they ache with such ferocity that they feel as if they could tear us apart where we stand, but in the end, they are only feelings, a complex network of chemical reactions and forces we can’t begin to comprehend. The only thing you need to understand is that you are NOT alone. You are NOT hopeless. You deserve a rich and full life as much as anyone else, and you will have it, but only if you don’t succumb to the feelings that tell you it’s hopeless, that you’re worthless, to give up. I KNOW those voices, and they’re full of SHIT. Don’t listen to them. Hold on. It WILL get better.
